The Bedwetter
Lyla’s Professional Theatre Debut in The Bedwetter
A first professional theatre experience to treasure! In early 2025, Lyla joined Arena Stage’s Washington, DC premiere of The Bedwetter, a funny and heartfelt musical based on Sarah Silverman’s best-selling memoir, The Bedwetter: Stories of Courage, Redemption, and Pee.
As the understudy for Sarah, Lyla was delighted to step into the lead role for several performances. Sharing the stage with Shoshana Bean, Darren Goldstein, Liz Larsen, Ashley Blanchet, Alysha Umphress, and Rick Crom was an experience she’ll always treasure. Their kindness, encouragement, and the chance to learn from them made a lasting impression on her. She is deeply grateful to the entire cast, creative team, and crew for making her first professional theatre experience so special.
Sincere thanks to casting director Raiyon Hunter for entrusting Lyla with this opportunity, and to Sarah Silverman for sharing her incredible story, her humor, and a truly impressive repertoire of farting noises!
