Lyla can proudly say she knows how to get to Sesame Street!
When Sesame Workshop invited Lyla to join Season 56 of Sesame Street, it was a dream come true. Like so many children, she grew up singing along, learning, and laughing with these beloved characters. Meeting Elmo, Big Bird, Grover, Abby Cadabby, and Telly Monster in real life, the very friends who helped shape some of her earliest memories, was a full-circle moment she'll treasure forever.
Lyla had the incredible honor of singing "Sunny Days," the iconic Sesame Street theme song that opens the show, and she can also be spotted jumping rope alongside Big Bird in the opening sequence. Watch it here!
Recording "Sunny Days" in the New York City Sesame Street studio was an unforgettable experience. Lyla especially loved working with three-time Emmy-winning music director, composer, and vocal arranger Paul Rudolph, whose music has helped define the sound of Sesame Street for years. One extra-special surprise was meeting his wife, Leslie Carrara-Rudolph, the talented performer behind Abby Cadabby, and getting to see firsthand the creativity and care that bring these beloved characters to life.
As announced by Sesame Workshop, this newly reimagined season premiered on November 10, 2025, on both Netflix and PBS Kids, celebrating Sesame Street's 56th season. Centered on kindness, compassion, and emotional growth, the series continues to help children build the social and emotional skills they need to navigate the world, which is one of the many reasons Lyla has loved the show since she was little. New episodes are available in more than 30 languages on Netflix and are released simultaneously on PBS Kids and PBS Kids digital platforms, bringing the magic of Sesame Street to families around the world.
Lyla is incredibly grateful to Carolyn Volpe for casting her in this special project, to her wonderful voice teacher, Dani Brindisi, for helping her prepare "Sunny Days," and to her manager, Shannon McHale Schachter at Rebel Creative Group, for helping make this unforgettable opportunity possible.
For Lyla, this experience was about so much more than recording a song or appearing on screen. It was the chance to step into a world that helped shape her own childhood and, in a small way, become part of that tradition of learning, laughter, and kindness for the next generation of children. That's something she'll always be grateful for.
